2010 New Canon Pixma MG8120

September 2nd, 2010

An AIO printer (inkjet all-in-one) can stir decent photos, but what if you want an AIO that’s much closer to a true photo printer even if you renounce some advanced AIO features? And also what you need is an expert AIO that’s designed a lot for photos as it is for text documents.

  • The niche the Canon Pixma MG8120 is designed to fill.
  • An inkjet photo printer also functions as an AIO.
  • The MG8120 is more adequate, and it’s even capable of double-sided printing.
  • For repetitive tasks such as bulk mailings and unattended envelope printing, you would be better off with a $299 model (a good fit for a home, a home office, or a light-printing small office) that has more-robust AIO features.

MG8120′s graphics capabilities:

  • It’s big strength, like print quality and projected longevity of its photos.
  • It has a six-cartridge ink system for exact color output, a high-resolution LCD screen, and the ability to scan 35mm slides and film strips.

MG8120 is faster than previous Canon AIO models when green printing photos and slower than the average AIO when printing text documents. The paper output tray holds only 50 sheets of paper. It can’t able handle printing more than one envelope at a time.

Canon Pixma MG8120 advantages:

  • It had a smooth and modern appearance.
  • The black glossy finish, rounded ends, and relatively low profile make it a good visual fit for a home, workstation area and also for modern office setting.
  • It makes it a slight harder than usual to grip and extend the paper-output tray, which is located just below the bar.
  • A distinctive metallic colored bar on the front of the printer helps you to find and raise the document cover.
  • As with other recent Canon printers, you can close the output tray when it isn’t required. If you forget to open the output tray before printing, it will automatically open on its own before the next printed page arrives. You can also shut the rear paper-input tray when it isn’t required.

This printer’s onboard interface is one of the best ever seen. It basically combines a 3.5-inch LCD screen with three selection buttons and a five-way circular button. The three selection buttons aren’t labeled, but they can work in combination with labels that appear on the LCD. The circular button spins to let you quickly move through groups of menu options, while various other illuminated buttons striking light up the surrounding black panel to offer up task specific functions.

For e.g., when printing, a big red Stop button appears, or when scanning, you see easy-to-distinguish Black and Color buttons. These secondary context-sensitive buttons are particularly helpful, because Canon packs it with more than the usual number of options…

Fuji Inkjet Tops De-Inking Jet Press 720

May 19th, 2010

The Fujifilm claims it has arrive at a “milestone” in the aptitude to remove the ink from an inkjet sheet as the manufacturer gears up to showcase its B2 sheet fed digital inkjet press, the Jet Press 720, running live as a profitable product for the first time.

The press will be display on Fujifilm’s stand, 9/CD360, with five live printing presentations taking place each day. After de-inking trials carried out by the International Association of the Deinking Industry (INGEDE), the body said the 720 hit recyclability levels “previously unseen” with inkjet print.

INGEDE’s Axel Fischer said the association was astonished by the levels of de-inking that were possible with the Jet Press 720 samples. “These types of results are in the same league as those achieved with offset inks, but we’ve never before seen such great results with inkjet print,” he added.

Fujifilm is pitching the 2,700 sheets per hour Jet Press at companies’ carrying out short-run commercial print work with Graham Leeson, marketing manager for Fujifilm Graphic Systems identifying a market between 500 and 2,000 sheets. Although the machine is capable of handling variable-data work, Leeson said such capabilities would be “application-dependent” on the customer’s requirements for the time being.

As Fujifilm would not be drawn on a price for the Jet Press 720, the manufacturer said it remained committed to a commercial launch before the end of the year and set a price of around $1m (£640,000). “We’ve had a really positive response to the Jet Press 720 so far but shows like IPEX will give us a greater idea. There is still skepticism but we look forward to proving those views wrong.”

Green Printing: Cost-Efficient and Profitable Printing Technology

February 8th, 2010
overnight-prints

The leading printing company Overnight Prints International in Irvine, CA since 2003, is urging its print competitors to switch on to eco-friendly waterless printing.

Now it has been a top promoter of waterless printing and has attributed a great deal of its company success to this technically advanced offset and offset/digital print production method.

Traditionally, printing is a vast consumer of resources, including chemicals, water and energy. Many large presses consume hundreds of thousands of liters of water each year. Waterless printing uses modern technology to reduce these green impacts. Notably, it uses silicon plate technology instead of chemicals and water in its print processes. There is also far less paper waste on waterless print runs, and the overall color consistency and print resolution is significantly improved.

Waterless printing has been developed to become a cleaner, faster, and more precise printer. The benefits to print companies are clear. Print companies that use waterless print methods have reported improved employee health, 40% faster production times, and a 30% drop in paper waste.

Brent-Rusick

“I believe all US companies should think about switching to more environment friendly processes like waterless printing,” said Brent Rusick, CEO and President. “Our production model is a great example of how being green is not only the responsible way of doing business; it is also a more cost-efficient and profitable way of doing business.”

Current ecological and biological research suggests that the world will face massive water shortages by the year 2025. Print companies need to switch to waterless printing to help save our resource.

Erase and Reuse Old Documents by Eco-friendly Printer

February 6th, 2010
DigInfo News

Figuring out how to reuse TPS reports and office printouts appears to have become a passion for Japanese engineers, as DigInfo News has discovered in recent days. If the “White Goat” machine that converts paper sheets into toilet paper failed to appeal, consider this apparently eco-friendly printer that can erase old documents and reuse them up to 1,000 times per special page.

The “PrePeat” printer uses a special thermal head and heat-sensitive plastic sheets to print whatever documents are mandatory. Users won’t have to buy ink or other consumables ever again, but there’s a catch – each printer comes with a price tag of about $5,517 (500,000 yen), and the plastic sheets come in lots of 1,000 at the price of $3,300.

Such a sturdy price tag means that only large paper-users might consider PrePeat. Smaller offices and individual customers will likely stick with their old-fashioned printer and paper combos for now, and keep the folks at Dunder Mifflin in business for a while longer.
