The Doc appreciates a good debate, in particular when it’s about a new technology taking over the land of an entrenched technology. In this case, there is an interesting debate rampant among a number of printing blogs as to whether or not inkjet is going to take over the printing world and replace offset technology (which uses plates and ink). Offset printing has been the mainstay of profitable printing for a number of decades, having itself replaced the more labor-intensive style of printing called letterpress.
But now offset faces a danger from two fronts. On the one side, high-speed toner-based printing devices have been taking over the short-run end of the market (usually defined as 5,000 copies or less). And now, thanks to breakthrough in speed, high-end inkjet devices are gaining ground as well.

Also, the company said it produces smaller more consistent toner particles to create crisp text and sharper color images. The Workcentre is available starting from $6,999 in the month of May in Americas and Workcentre 5700 series will be available worldwide from May for $7,475.
The Workcentre 7120 is equipped with advanced document management features like document routing to email, network and content management software, advanced color scanning up to 55 ppm, faxing over IP, fax forward to email and scan to or print from USB and Xerox Auditron which monitors color printing costs. It is an environmentally friendly printer which offers efficiency features such as sleep mode and consumes 3.08 watts of power, route and preview incoming documents on the interface or at PC to eliminate unwanted printing and earth smart print driver defaults including two sided printing with no banner pages. As part of Xerox green world alliance, all printers are energy star qualified.
Besides, Xerox is updating its line of black and white MFPs. The Workcentre 5700 series includes seven MFPs with print speed of 90 ppm and it is equipped with advanced security features including full support for IPv6 network security standard, image overwrite to electronically “shred” data, fax isolation to prevent unauthorized access to data and network authentication to restrict access to scan, email and network fax features.
The multifunction printers do far more than copy and print and also improve the way of work to be done, said rick dastin, president of Xerox global product delivery group. The Workcentre 7120 maximizes the office productivity and produce affordable, impactful color documents. With advanced document security and workflow tools, the Workcentre 5700 series help IT departments to solve their most difficult document management challenges.
Both Workcentre 7120 and 5700 Series are built on Xerox’s Extensible Interface Platform (EIP). EIP is a technology that can be used to create customized workflow applications.

As printing industry has more impact over environment, in recent years they find new methods to make products more environmentally friendly printing. Traditionally, petroleum based inks were used. While green printing techniques uses soy or vegetable based inks. Soy or vegetable based inks can easily be removed from paper and reused. Moreover the waste created during recycling can easily be disposed.
Eco-friendly papers are 100% recycled and it has not been processed with chlorine. Nowadays, most of the printing companies use pulp from sustainable tree farms to limit the impact on environment. Papers are created using plant waste which is one of the varieties of green printing methods.
Eco-friendly printers take into consideration of power saving. Carbon footprint is one of the big concerns for companies. Also, the recycled paper produces large amount of CO2. Actually, an average four trees are used for a ton of recycled paper and most of the companies are looking forward to minimize the carbon footprint.
So, try to create some earth conscious to the people and protect our environment with courtesy. Green printing is one of the best techniques that reduce the effect over environment.

HP officejet 6000 wireless color inkjet printer is similar to its officejet pro 8000 wireless. For a considerable lower price, officejet 6000 wireless offers good performance and plentiful features along with cheap inks.
Its setup was easy, in spite of large dialog boxes for setting the wireless functionality. On Mac, the preferences/printers dialog box is to be added manually to the printer.
The top lid of the printer is flimsy and the rear mounted automatic duplexer enhances the overall stiff build of the printer. In case of struck, the flip down rear door enables you to peek into the paper path or pull out from the unit. The 250 input tray has a sliding width guide on the left and the lid doubles for 50 sheet output tray. The control panel of the printer has three buttons namely, resume, cancel and wireless. The last toggle wireless on and off, prints out the network settings quickly.
The prices for inks are more reasonable and the standard size (HP 920) cartridges ship with the unit. It replaces the black ink cost $19.95 or 4.8 cents per page. The 300 page cyan, magenta and yellow cartridges cost $9.99 per piece or 3.3 cents per page. The cost for a page with all four colors is 14.7 cents. 1200 page black cartridge cost $31.99 (2.7 cents per page) and each 700-page cyan, magenta, or yellow costs $14.99 (2.1 cents per color per page).
Hp officejet 6000 wireless represents a step down in speed from officejet pro 8000 wireless. But it is nearly identical regarding print quality and features. It is a good inkjet printer deal for small, low to mid volume offices on a budget.
